Story

Sankalp ek Prayaas is an initiative to provide education in the tribal lands of Chhattisgarh, India. Sankalp Ek Prayas NGO primarily focuses on providing free of cost education to under- privileged children through support school programs in rural areas.
1) Presently we have 26 centres functional in Bhilai-Durg region of Chhattisgarh. We provide free support school assistance to underprivileged children of Class I to X in rural areas.
2) We cover the complete syllabus of children during the academic year at our support centres. Our effective system includes chapter wise test, subject wise test, comprehensive measurement of progress and reward mechanism for fostering continuous growth of children. Statistics shows that our presence in the villages has changed the education Eco system in the rural areas.
3)We have developed e-learning modules for children based upon their academic syllabus and our teachers use the e-learning modules for ensuring accelerated learning for the children.
4) Since last two years, our volunteers have executed our e-learning programmes in 100 government schools and we have received appreciation letter from 100 government schools of our effective free of cost e-learning programme execution and benefiting approx. 10000 underprivileged children in rural areas.
5) During last 10 years, we have developed an effective group of teachers in rural areas who contribute at our centres on honorarium basis. All such teachers undergo our capacity building teacher training programme. Usually, each of our centres run for 3 to 4 hours a day. We also have a strong operational mechanism for ensuring effective delivery of our services to the children.
6) Our entire services to the children are free of cost. We do not charge even a singly rupee from any of the children. We provide school kits to children which are supported by GOONJ.
7) We select 300 children every year in villages and provide comprehensive training to them for supporting them in entering into Navodaya Vidyalaya.
8)We conduct regular workshops for the children for fostering their extra curricular activities and conducts development workshops for ensuring healthy childhood.
9)For adolescent girls, we have developed a mechanism of continuous workshops and awareness camps for menstrual hygiene and we also provide free of cost sanitary napkins to adolescent girls. We have collaboration with renowned organizations for better synergy in achieving our objective of benefiting children from less privileged community. We run centres from the fund donated/ supported by our members, funding from corporate partners, online fund raising and institutional collaborations.
