I will be running my first ever marathon (42 km) on January 18th for Mahir Foundation - to empower uneducated women and youth with job trainings and placements.

90% of Indians drop out of the education system after 10th grade, and lack the employable skills required to earn a livelihood. A key gap Mahir addresses is to identify the demands in the job market, and trains uneducated women and youth accordingly, hence ensuring their employability.

Most of the women going through the programs are victims of domestic violence or sex trafficking, who have not been educated formally but are now at a stage where they need jobs to sustain themselves. Your funding will help these women stand on their own feet at this challenging stage of life!

Mahir Foundation needs INR 2.5 Lakhs ($4000) till March 2015. I will try my best to close this gap as much as possible.

•INR 500 ($10) will provide soft skill training to one woman/youth
•INR 2,000 ($40) will provide a sustainable livelihood to one woman/youth
•INR 10,000 ($200) will help train a batch of 5 to attain a livelihood

MAHIR'S IMPACT

Mahir was founded in 2014, and till date has impacted:

•35 women, of age 20 – 35 years and education less than 10th grade, trained and working in Geriatric Healthcare.
•12 youth, of age 18 – 25 years and education 10th – 12th grade, getting trained in Hospitality with jobs assured
•Most women have history of Domestic Violence, Divorce and Sex-Trafficking, and 5 youth are from a tribal village
