    Anaya Mehivish

    from Hyderabad

Amma! Papa!

“I couldn’t think straight when even the 4th hospital we went to refused to take her in. Her body was burnt and she kept screaming in pain, calling to us, asking us to make it stop.” - Imran, father, crying.

2-year-old Anaya was running around and playing in the house when suddenly she slipped and spilled a bucket of hot water onto herself. She got 40% burns from her chest to toe.

12 hours and 5 hospitals

“As soon as the accident happened I rushed her to the hospital but every hospital I went to had some or the other problem. Either there was no ICU to admit her or the doctor himself was not present, or some other reason. It took twelve… twelve hours to get my daughter first aid and by then... she was unconscious, unable to bear the pain.” - Imran, father

The parents had to bring her to Hyderabad in an ambulance and on the entire journey, they kept praying to God to keep her alive. Due to the extreme delay in treatment, Anaya got severely infected and suffered immensely.

She is the life of our neighbourhood

There was never even a single moment of dullness with Anaya around. Her smile attracted everyone around her and it was contagious. She loved eating ice-cream and played a lot with her elder brother. Her unfortunate accident has left everyone devastated.

“Recently I had a baby boy. Sometimes I felt like Annu took care of her little brother more than I did. She is a strong, brave and sweet girl. I just can’t see her like this anymore... My heart aches every time she cries for help. I just don’t know what to do to ease her pain.” - Heena, mother, feeling helpless

I sell clothes on the footpath for a living

“We survived with whatever I earned and I thought it was enough but now... now I don’t even have a penny left to save my child. I am grateful that my family, friends and my neighbourhood supported me so far but it is not over yet. 5 lakh rupees more! I don't know how I will...” - Imran

Imran sells clothes on the footpath and it’s not a regular business. He has to keep moving his stock to different areas in search of customers and his income is just enough for them to survive. Anaya needs to stay in ICU for 1 more week to fully recover without which she might not be able to make it.

She made it this far but won’t survive if you are not with her. Little Anaya needs your support. Your small contributions can save her.
