When students of medical or health sciences streams become professionals, they have to stay updated with the best available evidence of global practices. . This has become crucial, in the days of information being available more or less instantly through Internet based resources.
Many health professionals believe that they are equipped to search and find evidence. Alarmingly few know how to. We at QMed say this because health professionals have themselves told us this, after attending our courses.
QMed offers courses in structured online searching as well as referencing. Many health professionals believe that such training is important for postgraduate students.

Interestingly the Medical Council of India mentions the need for medical graduates to have the skills to search, but there is no such training in the curriculum.
QMed believes that this training should be introduced in the undergraduate stages. Only then, by the time these students are in their postgraduate courses, they are better prepared for their thesis, academics and eventually their professional lives. With such training, they save hours, find information and evidence more easily, both for research and for practice. We have had UG students attending our workshops (sometimes with seniors and professionals) and most often we have found that they learn the quickest.
This project seeks donations for QMed to support undergraduate students. While we normally ask individuals to give a donation of their choice (the minimum being Rs. 2000/-) if they wish to access our courses and the mentoring we offer, we plan to ask undergraduate students to give a token donation of Rs 250/- only. In addition, we plan to have incentives and prizes for those students who put in their best efforts to learn and also for those who score well in the assessments.
We seek support for this initiative. If you donate Rs 2000/- your donation helps us provide access and mentoring for one undergraduate student of ANY health sciences stream.
We will have students submit their application and for every Rs 2000/- we get as a donation, we will provide access to one student. If you give less than 2000/- we will use some of these funds to give incentives and prizes.
In this campaign we target a collection of Rs 500000, to support 250 students.
