Uddanam area consists of Ichhapuram and Kaviti mandals in Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh(INDIA).According to the World Health Organization, Uddanam is one of the three regions in the world with the highest concentration of chronic kidney diseases (CKD). Around 4,000 villagers have died of renal failure in the last decade and almost a third of the population in Uddanam suffers from CKD.Supplying Reverse Osmosis(RO) purified water to these mandals can help to prevent the diseases at the root level itself. Iam GURUGUBELLI LAVANYAKUMAR from srikakulam,ANDHRAPRADESH INDIA. I completed my graduation in 2011 and workedas a software engineer for 2years now iam preparing for public servicecommission exams.I have participated in so many social activities with the local ngo’s like “cheyutha” and “helping hands association”.I have organiseed relief camps at the time of natural disasters.Recently I have visited this varakha village(village profile avilable at he bottom) in kaviti mandalam srikakulam district I spoke to nearly 100people they all said that due to this contaminated water we are suffering withchronic kidney diseases.Idecided to set up an ro water plant in that village.
