For the past fourteen years, Charsur Arts Foundation, a not-for-profit organization for preserving and promoting carnatic music, has been hosting a series of events to promote carnatic music through young and budding artists throughout the year, especially during December & January. The foundation preserves vintage concerts of legends by cleaning and digitizing recordings, thereby providing monetary support to the families of these legends. CAF also supports musicians from economically weaker backgrounds and offers scholarships to students who are interested in pursuing this art form. The foundation, through state-of-the-art recording facilities, preserves concerts of the present day artists.
