This is the story of Sivakumar Dasari (37 Years) who was leading a normal & happy life until he heard dreadful news from the doctor that his liver is deteriorating day-by-day and potentially needs a transplant
Sivakumar is single breadwinner working for a company in Bangalore, India. His single earning is currently satisfying his life leads, taking care of his family needs, kids schooling, etc., This ailment has posed a huge financial burden on him now. Most of his savings is exhausted for his treatment & medication so far. He is looking for financial help from all the directions.
One mid-night, it all started with a severe cough and chest pain, which made Sivakumar rush to a hospital for an emergency care. He was diagnosed with Jaundice and was admitted to same hospital. After couple of days, he was discharged with medication course.
Later on, he then started to lose body weight drastically and rushed to same hospital he visited earlier with latest blood reports. Unfortunately, the test report started to indicate potential liver problem with advances stage of “esophageal varices” (abnormally enlarged veins that obstruct blood flow) in the food pipe. The doctor advised Sivakumar that he need to undergo a procedure immediately as the issue could be life threatening. The doctor immediately performed endoscopic variceal banding to the food pipe to protect from blood bleeding. Further testes such as “Hepatic vein Ballooning” and “Liver biopsy” were done to investigate the root cause. Horrifically, the Liver biopsy report indicated “Liver cirrhosis” (Chronic liver degeneration). Hoping to treat Sivakumar with oral medication, the doctor prescribed medicines and discharged him from the hospital
Soon after he came back home, in a couple of days, Sivakumar was again admitted to ICU (4-5 days) in the same hospital due to low blood pressure and food infection. He was treated with medicine and was discharged within a week
Siva was severely worried and started to visit doctor almost on a daily basis. Frequent check-ups started to indicate that his health is worsening day-by-day, with bilirubin count increasing drastically. The doctor then advised to visit Liver specialist
Siva started to visit Dr. Kaiser Raja (Gastroenterology, Aster CMI Hospital). He was advised with blood tests and scans. The blood test report indicated that his “Portal vein” has very huge blood clots and was advised to get admitted immediately to treat the blood clots. In parallel, the liver biopsy was samples were re-evaluated.
It was found that he is suffering from advanced stage of “Liver-cirrhosis”. Group of doctors counseled him and advised the only treatment for this ailment - “LIVER TRANSPLANTATION”
Hearing to this shocking message, Siva started lookout for help and support in the name of almighty; reaching out to everyone, he knows, looking at light of hope to fight this problem. He has registered himself with Government Organ Donation society “Jeevasarthakathe” and very eagerly looking for a healthy liver donor for immediate liver transplant procedure
