Why am I fundraising?

You know this thing you are reading this on? Most girls in our Free Student Homes haven't even seen one! Incredible, isn't it?

I'm fundraising to get computers (or tablets) in the hands of our tribal and rural girls who reside in or have graduated from AIM for Seva's Free Student Homes. 14 of our homes do not have computers and we would like to provide them with the tools required to open their worlds!

What do I plan to do with the funds?

In association with a corporate body, we are able to source desktop computers for Rs. 5,500 per computer.

We plan to provide at least five computers in each home. For the 56 computers, at Rs. 5,500 each, the computers will cost us only Rs. 3,85,000.

Plus we will need to get UPS systems for each home (erratic power supply still very much an issue in our homes), which will cost an additional Rs. 6,000 per home for Rs. 84,000 for the 14 homes.

The girls who reside in AIM for Seva Free Student Homes come from underprivileged backgrounds, with many of them coming from single-parent homes.

AIM for Seva will train the girls in the basics of computer operations, along with computer-based language and specialized software training.
