This birthday I would like to invite you to help me invest in one year of learning and development for Tanush, a first-grade student at Parikrma Humanity Foundation. I have had the privilege of seeing Parikrma's work up close when I volunteered at one of their centers.
About Tanush
Tanush is a shy but eager 6-year-old who loves to read, draw, and paint. He’s extremely smart in class and learns very quickly. With his father working as an autorickshaw driver and his mother as a maid cleaning houses, they work very hard to make ends meet. Tanush is a first-generation learner as his parents have never been to school.
About Parikrma
Parikrma Humanity Foundation is a non-profit organization with a simple mission – to ensure that even the poorest child from the slums is able to access the best possible opportunities anywhere in the world.
Now in its 15th year of operations, Parikrma runs 5 Centres for Learning and a Junior College for more than 2000 children from 99 slum communities and 5 orphanages in Bangalore. Parikrma’s 360-degree development model is one that covers every aspect of a child’s life. In addition to CBSE English language education, the money collected will be used to provide nutrition (3 meals a day), comprehensive healthcare and family care to ensure a stable home environment.
