“I understand addition & multiplication, but do not understand Hydroxychloroquine, I understand subtraction and division but do not understand the divide that the COVID has bought onto us”, as quoted by a kid who is undergoing a treatment with one of the two oncology hospitals run by Samiksha Foundation that provides educational support to cancer kids.

Like any other institutions, Samiksha Foundation also had to encounter the challenges posed during this pandemic, especially for those kids who are bright and have the zeal to learn and make a mark for themselves in their life.

Education for these children is at a stage of desolation due this pandemic situation. Same goes with the children undergoing treatment under Samiksha Foundation. These kids had to go back to their homes to continue medication but in the process have been deprived of creative learning that the foundation was providing.

Faculty at Samiksha Offices (COE) were on their feet when eight such kids in their 10th grade across the state reached out for support as they did not have any electronic gadgets to support nor internet connectivity. Volunteers now had a humongous task ahead of them to impart knowledge in less than 2-3 weeks of time before their exams. When this was a lockdown, Samiksha did not get knocked down during this time, Volunteers taught them Math (in Kannada, English as well as Urdu), Science, Social Studies, Hindi and Kannada and finally on the result day all these eight children had secured best of the percentages ranging from 53%-87%. One can get more information on their results, do refer to the link:

This is the new phase of Samiksha from educating with a traditional approach towards technological approach with virtual educational support. Yes, we call it, Samiksha 2.0 it does sound great indeed!
BrosOnWheels Team. A biking community who not only takes biking as their passion but runs with many taglines such as “Ride, Play & Celebrate” and “Do Good, Be Good”. Now, this group has been supporting Samiksha during the need of the hour. In the year 2019, this biking community took a pledge to support one of the Cancer Palliative Care Foundation and raised funds over and above its goal of over Three Lakh rupees. The team has come forward to join hands with Budli and Samiksha to raise funds for the needy kids with Mobile Phones, Tablets, Desktops/Laptops, Annual Internet Subscription and Broadband connectivity which is the need of the hour for online classes.

BrosOnWheels urge you to support this noble cause and help us get these kids back to their schooling activities.
Let us wipeout the heaviness of their tears roll down forever!
