21-year-old Neelambika is a B.Sc final year student of Smt. V.G . College. Her father Mr. Suresh runs a petty shop with a meager income of Rs. 4000/- per month. Neelambika is from a family of 6 members, she has one younger sister studying M.A and two younger brothers one has completed first year PUC and other completed second year PUC.

At the age of 10, Neelambika started developing spine deformities. She has consulted Government hospitals in Jewargi and Gulbarga Districts and later referred to Bhagwan Jain Hospital in Bangalore. After consultation of doctors in Jain Hospital Neelambika was diagnosed with Congenital Kyphoscoliosis which is a severely deformed spine and requires deformity correction. 

The approximate charges for the surgery would be around Rs.5,00,000/- where her father with a minimum income cannot afford the cost of surgery.
