About the project

Who are we?
Team Technocrats is the official robotics team of Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai. The team was formed in 2013 and has evolved with every passing year. We are a team of tenacious and competent undergraduates in technology who strive for excellence in the field of robotics.

About ROBOCON India
Our team will be participating in ROBOCON 2018 which is to be held in Pune.ROBOCON or Robotic Contest is organised by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), a collection of over 20 countries of Asia Pacific Region. Japan became the host of the first ABU Robocon in 2002. Since then, every year one of the member broadcasters hosts this international event.
The broadcasters of each participant country are responsible for conducting the national contests to select the team which will represent their country in the International Contest.

Why crowdfunding?
Team Technocrats is a self-funded team full of young engineers utilizing their skills, time, talent, money and efforts to build an efficient robot for the competition. Till now, the team has invested 4 Lakh Rupees to get the robot ready. But now, due to the lack of funds and resources, the team faces shortcomings to get our robot ready, Hence, we need your support to bring our robot to life with its full calibre. Join us to help Team Technocrats achieve the podium in the prestigious event, ROBOCON 2018. The smallest of your support will help us get one step closer to our dreams. With your support, Team Technocrats has the potential to turn these dreams into reality.

Challenges associated with our project
Making a robot that would not just be economic but also efficient is a tenacious task. We face challenges while designing and manufacturing our robot. But being undergraduates, our biggest challenge is in raising the funds required to accomplish our project.

How will the funds be used?
The cost breakdown is listed below:
Logistics- Rs. 6,000
Mechnaical Department- Rs. 7,000
Electrical Department- Rs. 17,000

We don't want our potential to be limited by financial barriers and so, we seek your support to help us raise 30 Thousand Rupees in 25 days so that we can successfully complete our testing and reach the ground zero of ROBOCON 2018 and get a chance to showcase our talent on the national platform.
