Details about the concept, project and Need of Matching funds to run the old age home

Concept. : India is a developing country. In today's social relations, Youngsters who are experiencing problems in technology, money, greed and self-esteem think elders are supposed to be organizers, wastes and night living organisms.
Their desires, needs, and the basic necessities and feelings are not valued and sent to old age homes. Elders are a wealth of information and family’s property and encyclopedia. His life is full of years. Adding life to their years is the challenge to humanity being done by the center “Vriddhashrama”

Old age Home Running @ Doddabathi Davanagere:
In the present day, People forget their social liability and lead self-centered lives, neglect their parents who can neither live nor die. Children and relatives care more about their luxurious life than the care of the elderly parents. Basic amenities are also not provided to their parents.

On many occasions, they are forced to walk away from home and live on the streets. Thus, for the solution to the problems that senior citizens face. Shri Maithri organisation built the old age home in business town in Davanagere district known as Manchester of Karnataka. In 1992, the old age home was opened in a well-built building in a village. By 2017, Center cares for 222 residents, taking care of the elderly.

Senior Citizens who are deprived of children, grandchildren, relatives love, affection, humility and mercy are always treated lovingly and with care by honest and well-natured staff.

If the caretakers and relatives of elders who die at the old age home refuse to take their body for burial, the staff will perform the last rites as per their religious customs.

Success story:
The old age home that reunited the mother with the children

I, Sundaramma, from Vishwanatha village of Hollakere Taluk, Chitradurga district, 73 years old
have two sons and my elder son Kanchappa is in agriculture and younger son is in government work. I and my husband Chandrappa quarrelled with our children over home property and left the children and lived away for 10 years. After my husband died, I took shelter with my eldest son Kennappa for about 6 months without any problems who took care of me. Suddenly, there was a minor fight between me and my daughter-in-law. From then, she abused me with vulgar language everyday. I didn’t share my pain with my son and somehow passed my life. When I finally told my son that I could not tolerate the words by his wife, he was in favor of his wife and he hurt my feelings. Every day he would scold and hit me listening to his wife’s words. I endured it for a some days and finally, I informed my younger son Chandrapappa who lives in Hubballi and went to him. I did not want to leave my village and live in the city. I felt defeated and I left  and stayed at Davanagere railway station for about 2 days. When I was at the station, the train staff came and asked me about my pain. Knowing this, they fed me a meal, and told me the address of an old age home and sent me to the old age house in Doddabathi by auto.

The staff of the ashram took my full address and enlisted me. Under counselling, they learned the story of my life. The staff are called my children and told them I had come to the center. Soon my children came to take me back home. I did not want to go with them. So my kids left me there as per my wish. I lived there for over 3 years. One day my children came and called me. I said I did not want to meet them. Managing director, Veerappa guided the me to reunite with the children. Then, I decided to go with my kids. I am for the Mughal aged mother who made one of my children's children. Now I am happy with children and grandchildren. I thank Sri Maitri Old Age home for reuniting the mother and kids.
Thank you, Sudaramma

Opinion
I'm very happy to come to this old age home. Older people who are very much disappointed in life come here and forget their pain and live happily. Similarly, the orphanage is also running well. I hope they guide the orphansto the higher education by guiding and focusing on the health of children. I hope the odds are in their favour.

Those who love deeply may die because of their old age, but those who don’t die when theyare young
