In the next 35 days, we are going to witness the year’s grandest festive season in India wherein apart from everything else, we will see at least 5 billion USD being spent on firecrackers that give us nothing more than noise and smoke and on wasted food/sweets/fruits. While most of us will celebrate Durga Puja, Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali, there will be people sleeping on hungry stomachs. While we will deck ourselves with expensive clothes and jewellery, there will be tiny kids and women who won’t have enough of rags to cover their bodies properly. This period will also see the start of the great Indian wedding season wherein we spend over 1 lakh crores (the lowest estimate) while dozens of homeless people will die every night due to hunger and cold.
We at Let’s Make Things Better are not willing to sit back and do nothing about it. While we also love the festivities, the lights, the food and the grand feel of the festivals and the weddings, we only want ourselves to spare a thought about those who are deprived and to spare a few our unimportant expenses for those who can benefit from this.
Yes, we are seeking donations as well as your support to our goal of ‘Making Things Better’.
We must make it clear here that we are not yet an NGO and either donating to our cause or being a part of any of our campaigns will not give you tax benefits.
What we can guarantee you is that if no matter what you give, the happiness that you get by giving it to a needy person will be much long lasting and powerful than the happiness that you would get from enjoying all by yourself.
You don’t need to think expensive or feel that donations require you to spend thousands of rupees.
You are wrong if you think, “I can donate if only I had enough or if only I was rich enough”.
You can make someone smile by sparing as little as rupees 100 if you wish.
Just show some heart! If you may wish, then share this message and page link with your network too so that they also can contribute.
