Hyderabad, a city where the Nawabs dwelt and brought prosperity to the city. The richness in culture, clothing and food is unmissable.
It is unfortunate that amidst the glitz of the beautiful Hyderabadi city, that the inability of people to afford decent medical care is lost.
Lions Club, Greenland realised the pitiful reality of people in the Dongala Basti area. Along with poverty being a primary problem, the area is infamous for hosting thieves. Therefore, the people from the area are looked down socially as well. Along with social stigma and poverty, the life of people here goes on without any proper medical care or support.
The Greenland branch of Lions’ club realised the dire need of health care in this area. They then started hosting a number of medical camps in Dongala Basti. They conducted many successful dental camps, severe acute malnutrition camps and ENT camps.
But over the period, a paramount need for a permanent hospital that could provide quality treatment to the poor was recognised. With the great benevolence of Dr Ishwar Chander and his family, the club benefited a land for the hospital. The aim of the hospital is to provide quality medical health services to the needy for free. With the help of our generous donors, we were able to build Dr Ishwar Chander Multi-speciality hospital of two floors. At Dr Ishwar Chander Multi-speciality hospital, we provide the following treatments for free or at minimum cost for the poor:
