Bharatanatyam performance

When I decided to stay in Chennai to nurture Bharatanatyam, my childhood passion, I had Rs.17/- in my pocket. I was determined to learn from the masters and every opportunity I got, I listened, watched, practiced and performed. A Masters in Bharatanatyam from Madras University and a Doordarshan Graded Artiste, I am a disciple of Dr Lakshmi Ramaswamy under whom I learn, perform and teach.
Many ask why I don't leave Chennai - I don't have an answer. The sounds of the nattuvangam vibrates at every nook and corner of the city, the air breathes of performances of legendary artistes; And my Guru’s dedicated time and effort towards improving my skills keeps me grounded here as I long to belong to this culturally embracing city.
I perform regularly with my teacher’s group and have given marked solo performances in and around Tamil Nadu including the Krishna Gana Sabha during the Chennai Music and Dance Festival, Chinna Melam Festival, Thanjavur, Uday Shankar Festival, Kolkata, Natyanjali Festival, Colombo, Tarang Utsav, Mumbai and many more.
Today, I have an opportunity to perform at Naali’s Aadi Natya Vizha on July 21st at 7.30 pm being held at Sivagami Petachi Auditorium in Alwarpet and your support could make it happen in the best possible way.

Hello everyone,

Here's how I was looking that day. I thought of sharing it with all of you who made it possible. It was a superb show. "It reflected the amount of hard work both the dancer and her Guru had put in for this performance," opined Padmasri Chitra Visweswaran. According to legendary dancer Padmabhushan V P Dhanjayan, "Her performance was a testimony to her passion towards dance." She was an absolute delight to fresh, untiring and graceful," remarked Kathak danseuse Jigyasa Giri.
Thank you again for all the support.

I am all set for the show. Thanks to your support I have also been able to request a flutist to join the orchestra for the first time for my solo performance. And I'll share the invoice of the entire orchestra after the show. Videographer has sent an invoice already upon request and I have paid from the money received earlier.
I have some last minute jewellery shopping (mainly headset - 7500/- and flowers 300/-). I would also like to be prepared with some extra cash in hand in case the lights there are not enough

I am very happy to share that my campaign has been covered by the Times Of India in a really extensive coverage. It is indeed unusual for Chennai Times to cover a classical dance story but I think they found it worthy enough. Everyone is curious and wants to know more about Milaap.

Here's the link:

And here's one more in News Today an evening newspaper in Chennai.

The money required for the following:
Photographer - 3500/-
Lights - 8000/- (if required)
Makeup - 2000/-

Thanks a lot for your help.
