Legends of India (LOI) is an endeavor to promote Indian Art Forms. We believe that Music transcends all barriers of languages, religions, geographies and hierarchies. It is the purest form of Art, Classical Music, fine-honed over centuries, has the power of healing and touches the very well-spring of Life itself.
Legends of India is the one of the very few organisations in India selected by the British Council for the CTC (Connect through Culture)program.  Legend of India is a unique institution bringing together having legends and those in the making. Some of Legends of Indian Classical Music who have performed for our banner are :
Late Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Jasraj, Shubha Mudgal, Rashid Khan, Ashwini Bhide, Uday Bhawalkar, Ronu Majumdar, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan (Pakistan), Gulam Ali, Ajoy Chakravarty and Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Bickram Ghosh, Tanmoy Bose to name a few.

The crowning event of all our activities has been the Legends of India Lifetime Achievement Award that was first made in 2002 and has since then gained national renown and appreciation from the cultural community. The award is conferred upon a living legend who has contributed in taking our art forms to a different platform among the masses in India and abroad. This award has three categories: Music, Theatre and Fine Arts
Objective of Legends of India

Our objective is to introduce upcoming talent with renowned legends. Our aim is to promote Indian Art Forms among the younger generation and build awareness about our cultural heritage.
Legend of India has taken an initiative for the 14,000 Prison Inmates at Tihar  to augment their rehabilitation process by introducing ‘Musical Events’.

In addition, Legends of India is presenting 'Morning Ragas'  and 'Baithaks' once a month beginning winter 2015 which is free of cost..
Our initiatives : Music for Tihar  inmates
The prison inmates have shown interest in music. and many even possess fine sense of music. Our intention is to provide them some solace as music heals like nothing else. We organise 'Morning Ragas / Musical Evenings' in Tihar Jail. Its main objective is to give its inmates an opportunity to lead a normal life by providing them with useful skills, education and the ability to earn a livelihood. The aim is to improve the inmates' self-esteem and strengthen their desire to improve.
About 'Morning Ragas'
Legends of India also introduced 'Morning Ragas' and 'Baithaks' for the citizens of Delhi in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sangeet Natak Akademi.
This is a unique initiative because the 'Morning Ragas' are gradually becoming rare in our busy schedule. The renditions will be both vocal & instrumental by legendary artistes. In these sessions we shall also provide an opportunity for the younger generations/ upcoming artistes to share the platform. Sarod Maestro Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Sunanda Sharma, Flautist Ronu Majumdar are some of the well known artistes have recently performed.
About 'Baithaks'
An insight and interaction with the artist on the art form has already commenced with the eminent Dhrupad artist Ustad Bahauddin Dagar to be followed by Pubayan Chatterjee (Sitar), Arshad Ali (Voca) besides others. This is only a humble beginning and it received a lot of appreciation. The core idea behind this initiative is to build awareness, inculcate the need to know ones cultural heritage.
