Hello!

I am Kritika, an aspiring young student pursuing Master of Management at University of Sydney, one of the top ranked universities around the world.

I have got this once in a lifetime opportunity to represent my country, India, at the prestigious One Young World Summit 2015.

As a part of this project and my goal as a OYW ambassador, I will start a blog featuring this year's summit, the collaborations, and the projects that I will work on during the following year. I will feature my amazing sponsors and all the things you guys do. I am reaching to groups of people whose work towards positive impact is inspiring to me.

#THE IMPACT:

It is all about collaboration and ideas. By building a conversation on how to make the world a better place, we are one step closer to doing so. All the people attending OYW have a passion for social and environmental impact – collaboration between us is already creating change all over the world. There is still a long way to go, but if it isn't for our remaining faith in humanity, where would we be now?

The One Young World Summit attracts young, brilliant minds that are driven to change the world, who want to make a difference and improve lives of the people around them. That is what makes them exceptionally incredible minds.

I am really thankful to you for visiting my fundraising page. My journey towards representing my country at the OYW Summit started off with a dream.

ABOUT ONE YOUNG WORLD:

One Young World was founded in 2009 by David Jones and Kate Robertson. It is a UK-based not-for-profit that gathers together the brightest young people from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change. It stages an annual Summit where the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGO's, universities and other forward-thinking organisations are joined by world leaders, acting as the One Young World Counsellors. At the Summit, delegates debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces.

In pursuit of my dreams, I have made many a great lifelong friends  through my global adventures whose emotional support and invaluable guidance have kept me going relentlessly towards my goals. Here are few words from my friends from across India, Pakistan, Austria, Hong Kong, Nepal and USA showcasing their support for making my dream to represent India at the One Young World Summit come true. :)

ABOUT ME:

I am a believer in the power of ideas. I like to start things, be it companies, initiatives, causes - and love the adrenaline rush that comes with it. I am really passionate about new ideas. I believe that an idea has the power to change your life and the best dreams happen when you are awake. My outside class experiences and interactions with people from around the globe have been tremendously instrumental in shaping my career aspirations and life goals.

If you happen to know me personally, you would know that I have always been a go-getter, hard-worker and a fighter. If you don’t know me well, you can have a look at my LinkedIn profile (https://au.linkedin.com/in/kritikajoon).

BUSINESS LEADER POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD, UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY :

After graduating from one the top universities in India – University of Delhi - it was a dream come true for me when University of Sydney awarded me the Business Leader Postgraduate Scholarship Award for being the most outstanding applicant against the following selection criteria of academic achievement, leadership, ambassadorial potential and motivation to succeed in business in a socially responsible way. Coming from a middle class family, this scholarship was a tremendous support.

(With Associate Dean - Master of Management and Master of Commerce, receiving the Scholarship Award).

I have consistently sought to develop my capacities and my competencies, to expand my horizons, to explore and exploit my opportunities, in the hopes of producing a positive change and creating an impact in my community, my country and the world.

Let me share with you my journey so far.

5.  DELEGATE, HARVARD PROJECT FOR ASIAN AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS 2013 ASIA CONFERENCE, DUBAI, UAE:

Represented India at the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations 2013 Asia Conference held in Dubai, UAE organised by Harvard University. I was specifically chosen to participate in the panel – Business Leadership and was one of the 400 students selected from more than 50 countries from across the globe.

I was the only student selected from University of Delhi for the same. At the conference I discussed vital economics, political and social issues that affect business growth in Asia with renowned academic, business and political leaders from across the globe.

Also engaged myself in case study workshops and investigated the best case-practices for the Corporates, MNC’s and SME’s to work on issues that could shape the future of business conditions in Asia. It was a highly engaging and fruitful learning experience indeed.

6.  DELEGATE, ASIA PACIFIC WEEK 2015, CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA:

The program engaged, challenged and simulated the way I perceive Asia and the Pacific. I had the honour to meet the Ambassadors from Korea and Philippines in Australia and other amazing political speakers during the course of the conference.

# NON PROFIT ORGANISATION :

I have always wanted to give back to the society and this led me to co-found the non profit organisation – Millennium Forward Meet (MFM) back in 2014. It was an absolute honour to represent MFM at the Clinton Global Initiative University in USA. It was recongnised as a Youth Empowerment Commitment to Action by President Bill Clinton.

# INVOLVEMENT WITH THE TEDx COMMUNITY:

1.
ORGANISER, TEDxSGGSCC:

I believe that good ideas MUST be shared with the world like the tagline for TED goes “Ideas Worth Spreading”. TED Talks from notable speakers like Sir Ken Robinson, Sheryl Sandberg and Bill Gates had inspired me so much that it led me to organize my first TEDx Talk Event – TEDxSGGSCC in Delhi, India.

2. ORGANIZER, TEDx WORKSHOP 2014, INDIA:

I had the opportunity to organise a TEDx Workshop in Delhi which was attended by TEDx Organizers from North India. I had the pleasure to meet and learn more from Mr. Will Davis (TEDx Application Manager) during the workshop.

(TEDxSGGSCC Team with Mr Will Davis (in the centre) at the TEDx Workshop).

3. VOLUNTEER, TEDxSYDNEY 2015:

Upon arriving in Australia in March, I thought it was a great idea to volunteer for TEDxSydney 2015 and work with the rockstars of Australia. I cannot even describe in words how incredible that experience was. No wonder it is called the most kickass TEDx Event in the world.  I even got a chance to interact and learn from Remo (The brain behind TEDxSydney 2015), David (The one who started the TEDxSydney Revolution years back) and lot many other inspiring people.

# DELEGATE INVITATION AT OTHER GLOBAL FORUMS:

1.  DELEGATE, AWESOMENESS FEST 2014, PHUKET, THAILAND:

It was an absolutely delightful moment when I was invited to represent India at the Awesomeness Fest 2014 in Thailand. MindValley and Vishen are both such an inspiration and when I got to know I was 1 of the 2 students selected globally to attend AFest, it was a cherry on top. The organizers of the fest were surprised to find out that I am an undergraduate student (when I got selected) because the people who usually get selected for this coveted event are successful entrepreneurs in their 30’s or 40’s. I was recognized for my efforts in bringing a change in my society with the help of my ventures and activities and thus they selected me.

2.  DELEGATE, WORLD BUSINESS DIALOGUE 2014 & 2015, COLOGNE, GERMANY:

It was my honor to have been invited to represent India twice at the kickass World Business Dialogue in 2014 and 2015 in Germany.

3.  DELEGATE INVITATION AT OTHER GLOBAL FORUMS:
