Keytaab

Why am I fundraising?
Our greatest natural resource is in the minds of our children says Walter Elias Disney.
What is a country without children? Their potential future youth? Nothing. Today, education and health are an add on to the basic necessities along with food, clothing and shelter. We cannot survive without knowledge and sound health. For a promising country like India having 39% of the total population as children with no education will be a disaster in the future. Out of 39% majority of the population is trapped under the below poverty line and fail to receive education or any basic needs. Why should poverty decide the fate of a child and for India? Realizing and regretting the low income of various families, Muskurahat Foundation is opening the doors of education and will sponsor exquisite street-side heroes for their education. Our project Keyताब, will fund education for 5 kids in the month of June. We aim to partner youth associations, organize various fund-raisers, campaigns and direct donations because we know nothing is possible without “you”.  Let’s make the journey of a kid from roadside hero to an IAS!

What do I plan to do with the funds?
We have an initial target of helping 5 girls between the age group of 4-7 years.
The expenses of the whole  year's education for 1 child is Rs. 15,000.

These expenses will include their school fees, tution fees, stationery, unifrom and travelling to the school by school bus.

We are going to admit these kids in  reputed schools.

10%  of the funds will be utilised by Muskurahat Foundation as our on-ground expenses.

Therefore, the calculation goes like this,

15,000*5=75,000
75,000+7,500= 82,500.

At the mere age of 4, Afreen Wasim Pathan, who should be studying, playing with her friends, hiccupping with laughter and just being a child, is being brought up without her mom who herself suffers from the last stage of Tuberculosis and has very little or almost no chances of surviving. She abandoned her family due to Wasim’s drug addiction, Afreen’s father. Afreen is taken care of by her grandmother, Ruksana Tevar who also looks after her elder sister Khushboo who is 6 years old. Khushboo is a school going but not so bright student.

Wasim has two step siblings, Prince and Heena. The whole family depends on the income earned by Heena who has just completed her graduation and works under the position of a CA and earns a sum of twelve thousand only. Prince on the other hand washes rickshaws and hardly earns enough. The family suffers from lack of resources and fights through hardships every day. Afreen’s parents had a love marriage which remained healthy for a brief time till the hardships changed their lives and their marriage proved unsuccessful.

She gave birth to Khushboo at a very young age of 18. This proves that none of Afreen’s parents were given a complete education.
Afreen is one of the 20 children who we are adopting and providing her with an education through the funds of Keytaab. She is a bright student who aced her playschool results and scored an A. We see potential in as we noticed how she was the only one standing up in respect for the national anthem while her family dwelled in negligence while watching a movie.
