Story

Since 2007, The 'Kartavya Foundation' - Society Reg. No. Maha-288/15 (Jalna) - is continuously supporting the education of Orphans, Widow's children, other poor family kids and especially the children of deceased farmers from Marathwada.

We strongly believe that if children are given good primary education and enough opportunities, they can figure out their own way out their own way to a brighter future. It hurts deeply to realize that there are many school drop outs in rural area, especially in farmer families, in spite of the fact that seeking education is a fundamental right.

While we cannot possibly solve all issues, we can at least help some of them with financing, resources and counseling.

(ROI) RETURN ON INVESTMENT?

Yes, We could see that a seed planted 11 years back is now producing fruits! Mr. Shubham  Dhondiram Devane, son of road side tea stall owner is now pursuing his engineering at Devgiri College of Engineering Aurangabad. One more, Mr. Rahul Bhokare, son of a vegitable seller family is pursuing his Electronic engineering from G.H. Raisoni of college, Nagpur. Mr. Moshin Sheikh, son of Auto-rickshaw mechanic is pursuing his Diploma in polytechnic from Government college of Polytechnic Ambad Jalna.

Girls are also not behind in anyway in this list. Miss. Komal Prakash Lahane (photograph available below), daughter of a farmer who committed suicide in 2014, will be completing her Polytechnic diploma in computer science this year from Government college of Polytechnic Ambad Dist. Jalna.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE BEING SUPPORTED?

Today, when we are at 11th year of this noble initiative, supporting more than 200 kids, selected from all over Maratwada region, regardless of any religion or cast. These students are from 1st standard right up to the ones who are pursuing their Engineering Degree or other Diploma.

WHAT DO WE PROVIDE THEM?

We provide them everything and in enough quantity required for an academic year, taking in to consideration their standard/class of education. A standard set includes Academic Books, Notebooks, School Bag, School Uniform, Shoes, Socks, Exam pad, Geometry box, Ball pen, English dictionary etc. In addition to this standard set above mentioned, we do provide them books for competitive exams of Navoday Vidyalaya and Scholarship. In some exceptional cases, we do provide them financial support as well, for paying the college fees, exam fees or special coaching.

We also encourage youngsters for Competitive Exams (e.g. UPSC, MPSC), and for that purpose we have established a STUDY CENTER at Partur. It has enough books available for preparation of such exams - all at free of cost. On daily basis 20-40 students are using it for their competitive exam preparation or regular academic study purpose.
