Dear all,
Phase –I of Relief and Rehabilitation through physical, material, monetary and medicinal help, has been successfully implemented. Phase – II of providing psychological first aid to the people affected by the flood, has been rolled out.
HiCuP, a unique initiative by Ms. Seeba Bhojani, supported by Jnana Prabodhini Pune, and Maîtree Organization, Kochi, has been rolled out with the vision of facilitating long-term psychological rehabilitation of people affected by floods. For the purpose, a team of 25 volunteers has been trained to provide listening support on the field over a period of one month for short-term and assess psychological needs of the community to provide support in the long run.
As we know Kerala has been affected by this kind of floods almost a century; hence being the most difficult one to deal with. The people have not only been physically affected but also strongly being impacted at a psychological level, leading to an increasing number of suicides. Therefore, there is a strong need to provide psychosocial support in addition to physical and material help.
1st batch:
Names: Seeba Bhojani, Prashant Ghule, Prasad Patil, Prasad Thorve, Gaurav Ingole, Bobby, Manoj Sonune, Janhavi Narayan, Adithy, Dnyaneshwar, Shweta, Sudhir Patil.
Working period: 13th sept - 25th Sept.
Duration of work-10 days
As per our estimates, there is a need of approx. three lakh Rupees. We request you generously contribute and be a part of this initiative for successful and complete rehabilitation of Kerala.
