Help Young Jayakumar Make His Way To Russia

Meet Jayakumar, a 15 year old teenager who hails from Sivakasi. Jayakumar is far from your average teenager.

Jayakumar's father is deceased. His mother works in the fireworks industry that Sivakasi is famous for. His environment meant that Jayakumar witnessed many of his close family/ neighbours succumb to fire-related accidents.

This motivated him to build a fire safety device. He obtained the help of his teacher, Karunaidos, to do this.

"The device analyses the heat in a room/closed environment using a heat sensor. After a certain level is crossed, there are multiple protocols such as alarms, danger lights, and finally, a water spray. This minimizes fire accidents" says Karunaidos proudly.

This invention ensured that young Jayakumar won at the Space Kidz Competition and received his award from none other than Rakesh Sharma, the Indian astronaut. He competed against thousands of applicants to win this coveted award.

What is he fundraising for?

After winning the Space Kidz competition, Jayakumar now has the chance to go to Russia (from April 24th- May 1st) to further his invention and learn more about science. He needs around 1.75 lakhs for this trip. Being from a lower income family, he cannot afford this. He has received help from some family abroad but still, falls short of the required amount.

Dear donors,

Thanks a lot for your love and support.

I am now in Moscow along with my talented student Jeyakumar. We reached Russia on 23.05.2017. He is in good health. He enjoyed the space station trip very well. He has learnt a lot from the education space trip. He got more and more of practical knowledge. He got a certificate from aeronautical college for attending one-day aeronautical class. Thanks to all the donors for making this possible.

Funds would be required to complete all the activities included in the educational trip of Jeyakumar.
