“Sunrise Pratishthan” (Reg No MH. 2059/2010/Pune/date 04/10/10) – an NGO that works for the betterment of the parts of society which need support from all of us. We are working together since last more than 6 years and contributing our small share towards all the activities with this regards.
A year ago when we were working for one of our initiatives in Satara district we came across a place “Sant Gajanan Maharaj Ashram”. It’s not typically an orphanage but a place where the orphan kinds and the children of the migrant workers live together. It is situated in a village called Panvan in Maan Taluka of Satara district (Maharashtra).
A couple Mr. Sakharam and Mrs. Ramabai Torane have spent all their belongings to set up this ashram and now running it with their pension which is not a very big amount. Initially the count of kids was 5-6 but now it has crossed 50. During the season when bulk migration of local labors happen, this count reaches to even 80. The daily expenses are met by Ramabai’s Anganwadi salary and some bits from Sakharam’s pension. However, the struggle of facing each day with big smiles hasn’t faded yet. These kids don’t have enough space to sleep so they have to adjust a lot.
Sunrise Pratishthan has been closely working with them since quite few months and assessed their need for one small room and a solar heater. It’s time we come up together to offer a helping hand, which may not transform their lives but indeed give them strength enough to smile even bigger.
Kindly donate for this noble cause and be the reason of smile on these sweet faces.
