I am Laxmipriya Mohanty working as a customer care manager in a Maruti showroom at Cuttack, Odisha. My 6 year old son, Vineet is hospitalized from 16th January 2016 for multiple brain hemorrhage. My sons were playing and he accidently got pushed, falling on his head and slipping into coma that very moment.

We took him to Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha where he was immediately rolled into an emergency decompressive craniotomy. But due to the swelling in his brain, the skull cap has not been attached yet. My little boy has been on ventilator ever since and is under constant observation in the pediatric ICU. They had to do a tracheostomy on 27th January and a PEG tube was placed on 8th March. Doctors are hopeful Vineet will recover in 6-9 months.

My friends helped me raise some funds individually and also with a local campaign through regional news channel. The funds raised have helped me with the treatment till now. Having spent over 16 lakhs, I can in no way afford the treatment for my son.

Doctors suggest Vineet needs to be under intensive care for next 3 months. Also, he would require a surgery to fix the skull cap back. All of this would require at least 25 lakhs. I cannot arrange for such a large amount with a mere salary of 12000 a month.

How can you help?

I have been a single mother for 4 years but never have I felt this helpless. I request you to please come forward to help me save my son. Funds collected through this campaign will be transferred to hospital for the treatment.

I will be forever grateful for to each and every person helping me save my son through this campaign.

Dear Supporters,

We are deeply saddened to inform you that Vineet passed away on Saturday ( 6th August) early morning around 5.30 am. Vineet developed a severe infection which damaged his respiratory functions. It has been a difficult journey for the family for the past 5 months and we hope they find strength in this time of grief. May the little one's soul rest in peace.

Dear Supporters,

Thank you so much for supporting me and my son in these difficult times. I would not have managed to keep up to the urgent need of funds over the months of this long recovery. One call to Milaap and they immediately transferred the funds to the hospital for Vineet's urgent surgery in a day's time.

Vineet's surgery went well. His heart rate has been relatively steady since the surgery. However, he has had 3 incidents of seizures in last 48 hours. Doctors have put him on the necessary treatment to bring these episodes under control. I am hoping these seizures stop soon. Please continue to pray for my son.

Thank you

Dear Supporters,

Vineet is scheduled for a surgery today to drain the excess fluid from his brain. Doctors suggest it is the need of the hour to reduce the pressure on the veins. I will keep you posted on how he is doing post the surgery in coming days. Please keep him in your prayers.

Thank you
