Help save the roof of our 40 year old school - Help raise 5 lakhs before March 20th so we can rebuild the roof !
Kendriya Vidyalaya Indunagar is a civil school located in Indunagar Ooty and has been functioning for more than 4 decades. Currently the school offers CBSE board education from Grade I to XII with 833 students. In the past few years, the school has seen tremendous growth in enrolment, especially from the lower income group, given the good quality of affordable education.
During its formation, the school was fully supported by Hindustan Photo Films (HPF), a Public-Sector Enterprise. Aftermath of the PSU being declared sick, KVI continues operation as a civil school in Ooty. The school building is more than 30 years old and now has started suffering leakages and seepages in the roof. This leakages and seepages in many places have become home to moulds infestation jeopardizing the health of the kids. This has become particularly concerning and pressing given that the chilling monsoon season is fast approaching, and the repair work needs to be completed by end March 2018 before the onset of the first showers.
It is towards this end, we, the students and Alumni of the school, are appealing for your help. The cost of fixing the roof is estimated to be around Rs. 5 Lakhs.
All donations are needed and appreciated, regardless of size. The default is Rs 2500 but you can always donate more or less based on what you can do !
