Surgery and hospital costs for Komal (IIT KGP alum)

To all near and dear to Komal,

Komal, unfortunately, met with a road accident on Oct 27th (2018) while traveling in Tamil Nadu (India).

He suffered severe internal bleeding in the brain resulting in a traumatic brain injury and had to undergo multiple surgeries for the last 45 days. He is currently being treated in KIMS Secunderabad hospital.

He is yet to recover and is still in ICU and unconscious (coma). At this point, his insurance coverage is running out. Since Komal being the only breadwinner in his family, we need your help as a friend to support Komal and his family during this tough time. Please donate generously to this cause as this is the primary way we can help him. For any questions, please reach out to me on my email id.

Note: Around Rs.20 lakhs (insurance + personal money) was spent till now for the various surgeries and treatment. Current ICU expenses are around Rs.25,000 plus per day. All the money donated will be deposited in Komal's dad's account (his sister is co-ordinating from their side).

Thanks,
Aditya Bandi (and other friends)
(I am Komal's childhood friend from Prashanthi Niketan/Intermediate era).

Dear Supporters,

We are transferring the remaining funds to the Komal's father's account as this will help them meet their ends and other expenses that they incurred during this ordeal.

I wish to thank you all once again, for the support and love you showed during a time of great need. Your response has been truly humbling.

Thanks

Dear friends, donors and all who knew Komal,

Thank you for your wonderful support!

We have some unfortunate information to share with you. Komal suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors tried to revive him, but they were unsuccessful. He is no longer with us!

His family performed the funeral and last rites.

How did this happen:
Komal wasn't doing well (his oxygen levels and other vitals went down) starting on the first week of March and was shifted to KIMS ICU. His kidneys started to fail due to prolonged heavy medication and he was put on dialysis last week. His vitals did not stabilize, and things did not improve. All of us are in shock and cannot digest the reality. We lost a great friend and a good human being.

I can't thank you enough for praying for his recovery. Keep him in your good memories and remember the time you spent with him. We will all miss him. Please stay strong!

May he rest in peace.

Regards,
Aditya Bandi

p.s: apologies for posting this late. I am deeply disturbed and in shock for the last few days. It took me some time to get back to reality and open my laptop to write this.
