This is a humble attempt to try and raise funds for the medical expenses of my lovely 10 year old niece Myra who was diagnosed with leukemia recently.
She came to US to visit us with family but got admitted in the hospital in an emergency one morning for fever and severe knee pains and was diagnosed with cancer after doing certain tests- known as ALL-Acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
She has always been a bubbly child and to see her in this much pain is terrible. The transformation has been very painful as she lost around 10 pounds in around 1 month or so.
Our heart goes out for her and this situation is hard on everyone especially her parents and little brother. She is undergoing a treatment for initial 1 month in a renowned New Jersey hospital and the hospital bills are piling up with each passing day. They came here for a short trip with not much medical insurance having the cancer treatment charges as these circumstances were not expected at all and is a shock to everyone concerned.
The total expense is expected to go around $400,000 for the 1st month of induction phase and the total treatment is spread in around 3 years approx. She is in hospital from more than 2 weeks now and the bill has reached to $190,000 approx by now. The total length of therapy (induction, consolidation, and maintenance) for most ALL treatment plans is 2 to 3 years.
I would really appreciate if anyone can donate as much amount as possible and even a little donation will help us in collecting the funds to pay off the bills here in US and would be needed in the further treatment down the road.
We just pray for her health and speedy recovery and would help her to come as victorious in this battle in which she is not alone. Love you lots Myra and get well soon as we have to play soccer, cricket and other games soon.
