Father Fell From Constructionbuilding, Mother With 3 Kids In Dire Need

Father fell from under construction building, mom with 3 children are in dire need of help!

On what seemed like a normal day, our domestic help, Ammulu's phone rang while working at our home. She calmly walked over to her phone only to hear that her husband had fallen from the 3rd floor while working at a building under construction and was on the way to the hospital. Tears streamed down her face as her voice wavered when she told my mom this shocking news.

The next few days were nothing but hell for her, with 3 daughters to take care of and an unmoving husband. Her husband has been in the ICU of Vydehi Hospital, Whitefield, Bangalore for over 2 weeks now and the family which runs hand to mouth is getting into debts due to medical expenses. We've visited the hospital, had discussions with the doctors and he needs to undergo multiple surgeries to brain and spine. As he fell on his head from the 3rd floor on to the concrete road below, the impact transmitted to the spine and caused major injuries. While the family and doctors are hopeful of recovery, however small, it is impacting the family both emotionally and financially. This attempt is to give them a hand in whatever way we can. Knowing Ammulu for past 6+ years, since my childhood (she is the only domestic help we ever had) and is very dependable, caring, and in need of help.

All 3 of Ammulu's kids are well mannered, ambitious and I'm truly hoping that this unimaginable event happening to their father won't set them back and the least I can do for them is to lower the financial burden their mother is facing, so that she can take care of the father and the kids can reach their full potential.

To help their family we have created an account for Ammulu, for your valuable contributions. Any amount of contribution is looked upon kindly because every contribution, no matter how small or large makes a huge difference, helps an entire family lead a better life, and sends a message that there are great souls in society wishing a fast recovery for their family.

I need your help to put the light back in their eyes and the smiles back on their faces.

Dear Supporters,

I want to extend my gratitude to all of you for supporting Ammulu and Markandeya through these tough times.

Markandeya was discharged from Vydehi Hospital, Bangalore two days ago. His lower body is completely paralyzed and is not responding to treatment. Since the major impact area was his spine, his nerves are compressed and there are some complications in the lower spinal area. The doctors have suggested that he should try alternative treatment because if a surgery is done it can turn out to be extremely risky and there is a very low chance of success.

I am planning to go to his daughters' school to speak to them about a discount on their fee or a fee waiver, owing to this tragedy. Hopefully we will get a positive response from their end.

My wife and I want to thank you all for the support you have shown towards Ammulu and her family. Do keep praying for them.

Regards,
Gautam

Thank you all for your support. Just returned after visiting Markandeya & Ammulu at the hospital (Vydehi, Whitefield, Bangalore) and would like to provide an update. He is moved to regular/neurosurgery recovery ward in 4th floor after surgery. He is able recognize and recall almost everything from past, recognized us by name. We had a chat with him for a few minutes but seems like he is going through a lot of pain when the painkillers' effect is going down during nights, hoping that things will improve in coming days but his lower body is still not responding and need to wait and see...

Conveyed the support provided by you all and Ammulu is very thankful to all of you. As of now they are mostly running on money borrowed from extended family/others and these funds will greatly help them in further treatment and recovery.

Thanks again and we'll continue to raise the funds to help them for both medical and kids/family needs while they are going through the tough time.
