Taskin was just 3 years old when her father passed away suddenly due to Kidney Failure. Soon after, her mother too abandoned Taskin and her sister at their grandmother's place.
All of a sudden these kids were orphaned until their Aunt, Noorussaba, decided to raise both the girls herself and now they call her 'Ammi'.

A rare blood disorder has gripped 8-year old Taskin

Unfortunately, this year Taskin got detected with a rare blood disorder called Fanconi Anemia while she was on a ventilator fighting Dengue.

"For a month, her fever didn't subside despite medicines. Suddenly, her mouth and nose started bleeding and I could see her losing senses. When we got to the hospital, we found out that she was suffering from dengue that had reached its last stage. Within an hour, her bleeding got so uncontrollable that she had to be put on ventilatory support immediately."- Noorussaba, Aunt

It was not until December that Taskin's guardians came to know about her body being unable to produce blood on its own. She undergoes monthly Blood Transfusions but this isn't a viable option because sometimes when her body doesn't accept external blood, her risk of sepsis can prove to be fatal for her.

Her sister is her donor but they still can't afford her life-saving transplant

A Stem Cell Transplant is the only way for her body to produce healthy blood on its own. If delayed, her Fanconi Anemia can turn into cancer. Her 11-year old sister is compatible to be her donor and now the only thing preventing them from getting this transplant is the lack of funds.

"My brother's last words were to look after his daughters well. After he passed away, I was scared to take care of two young girls all by myself but my wife cared for them like their own mother. Whenever they call me Abbu, it reminds me of how much I miss my brother. I feel guilty for not being able to protect Taskin from such a deadly disease. If something happens to her, I'll be shattered for failing to keep the promise I made to my late brother."- Narusarka, Uncle

Her body is too weak to handle infections, keeping her isolated from others

A shy girl, 8-year old Taskin, has never known what a normal childhood would feel like. She stays completely isolated because of the risk of infections and only steps out for her transfusions. She has no friends except her own sister but she dreams of a life where she would play, run and study just like any other child. But this is becoming painfully difficult for her Uncle and Aunt to arrange 9 lakhs to fulfill her dreams.

"I've sold every piece of jewellery from my wedding and now there is nothing left for us to take a loan against. Narusarka has started going to work at 5am so that he can fend for all our 5 kids. Even after working till midnight, he comes back home with hardly more than Rs.250. We are just begging to Allah for a miracle now because there is no other way now that we can arrange 9 lakhs so soon."- Noorussaba, Aunt

These parents have been desperately trying to save every single penny for Taskin's transplant since June. But now the time is running out and they still are short of 9 lakhs to afford her Transplant. Despite having a donor ready, they are still terrified of losing their child just because of this delay. Taskin's infections are making her body weaker day by day and if this continues she might be diagnosed with cancer too.

With your support, you can help these parents honor their brother's last wish of looking after his daughters well.
