This is the story of Akshara, a little 5 year old, who talks without any breaks. A charming and lively little girl with an ever smiling face. Akshara has inherited her nature from 35year old Sushanth, her dad. An ambitious man, who always shouldered his responsibilities of his family very well. Sushanth has always been a good husband,a good father and a great son, supporting his old parents. Little princess Akshara is her dad's pet and is totally unaware of her dad's pedicament. Little she knows that her daddy is in hospital battling a massive brain stroke in ICU. He has been diagnosed with Massive Bilateral cerebellar Canal Radiation Left hemi medullary infarct. And he underwent emergency decompressive craniotomy and reservoir placement.
Akshara thinks her dad has a flu and will be back tomorrow. He will play with her and call her name as he always does. Amrutha needs your support to preserve little Akshara's innocence so she can bring Akku's dad (Sushanth) back to home and make the family picture happy again.
There was nothing special about them, Sushanth and Amrutha were just like any other middle class family. A common family with dependant parents and a sole bread winner. A common Indian family, trying to give best of everything to their 5 year old daughter.
But now everything has changed since last week. The family is caught in mid of a stormy condition, which they never imagined even in thier scariest nightmare.
Last week when Sushanth came back from office early, Amrutha served him the evening tea like any normal evening. Sushanth complained about his headache and went to thier bedroom to take rest. Little Akshara kept pestering him with her doll. But something was unusual, Sushanth was not playing with her. But the princess didn't complain.
But after some time Sushanth started vomiting and collapsed on the floor.
Amrutha was totally dumb found and she called few of her neighbors. Everyone rushed and got an ambulance. Sushanth was transferred to CARE hospital, Hi-tech city, Hyderabad . Sushanth remained unconscious and doctors diagnosed his brain stroke and admitted him to ICU. In view of low GCS value (<8), emergency intimation was done. And immediate MRI brain and Angio was performed. In ICU, hospital promptly managed him with osmotic therapy and other supportive systems. Amrutha kept standing looking at the glass door, which kept them apart.
His right side was paralysed already and as GCS value further detoriated, doctors suggested an immediate open skull surgery (decompressive Craniotomy and reservoir placement ) . And Sushanth started breathing with ventilator GCS-E4 V3 M4 But this was not the whole story!
He also undergone surgical thracheostomy.
Immediately after the surgery Sushanth's other side of brain started bleeding internally. Now he is breathing through respiratory support, fighting for his life.
Improper or incomplete diagnosis done by one of the hospital has landed them in this situation where in Sushanth had to undergo a life saving surgery to reduce the brain swelling and edema ( water accumulation) and facing multiple post surgery complications making them pay close to 60,000 per day. Amrutha is trying her best for the ends to meet. Their savings only lasted for a few days. She knocked doors of friends and family and his employer but the sky rocketing expenses left her with severe financial crunch.
Amrutha, a young woman, who always dependent on her loving husband for financial matters, is completely bewildered and tired from her rounds to hospital. She didn't eat well or sleep for days, she is dying for little rest but she is still not losing hope. She has no answers to Akshara's innocent questions. She is stretched to her limits but at the end, but still the warrior in her is not letting her lose. Her fight must go on. And Amrutha, Akshara and Sushanth's old parents are totally looking upto humble persons like you for the support.
This is when we as friends decided to give them a helping hand and organise crowd funding. I, her friend, another fellow woman, can not even imagine what she is going through and I couldn't face his parents still.
I’m sure you have the power to extend support to this family, Please help and spread the word to get the maximum support. Let us all hope Mr. Sushant recovers soon to gift all his love to family. A small contribution can help Akshara lead a normal life like our kids do. Thank You!
