Hello!
My name is Shreerang.
I'm working as a mechanical engineer, as most people in India do.
I have parents to take care of, as most people in India have.
My dad is a retired Air Force officer, as are a selected few in India.
Having retired at an early age, my dad has done all that has been necessary for a decent survival of a small family in India. After I started working, the burden of improving our financial status fell on my shoulders, and I was doing it pretty well. We moved to Bangalore, we bought a car, we bought a 32" TV, we have all the things that are considered to survive in India at this moment.
Until February 2017, all was going well. One day, while going back home from my office, I slipped in a pothole on the road and fell down, resulting in the fracture of my right patella. We had recently bought a car (Renault Kwid in November 2016) which had drained all my savings. Also, the hospitals weren't willing to do a surgery for patellar restructuring with my medical insurance. I had to use up all my credit cards and my dad's savings for the surgery. Apart from this, I had to rest for almost two months and my office refused to pay me during those months.
So, the total cost of the surgery included the hospitalization charges plus my two months' salary. I really don't know how my dad managed the household with just his pension in his hand.
Just when we thought we were recovering financially, a drunk truck driver rammed our car and it was completely crushed. Thought the insurance company paid for the repair, we still had to pay a lot from our pockets. My dad almost went into depression and financial crisis hit us hard. We are slowly recovering now, but we still are under a lot of debt.
I will be really grateful if you can pitch in some funds for my loan repayment. I have plans of social work in the future. I promise that I will be paying you all back indirectly once our condition stabilizes.
