From Normal TB to MDR -Suffering Tuberculosis since 9 years.

Shaukat Ali has spent more than 10 lakhs in his treatment.

Now, doctors are suggesting him to go to Delhi or Bengaluru (TB hospital).

He will leave with his daughter for his treatment.

Needs money to stay in Delhi as doctors are suggesting that he might have to stay in Delhi and Bengaluru for 15 to 20 days.
Shaukat Ali from Topchanchi which is 35kms from Dhanbad has been diagnosed with Extra Pulmonary TB. Among the hues and cries of many schemes and programs his voice has been left unheard from 6-7 years. Carrying his certificates he tells his pitiable condition of incorrect medication, absence of Basic testing facilities, improper treatment from all the established institutions of health, be it RIIMS, AIIMS, PMCH with no one to tell him that TB medication is free for all. After spending his hard earned money on his treatment he is left with nothing but his growing disease of MDR to XDR. We do have conferences, seminars, debates, health allocations but we forget their implementation in and around the needy. Shaukat Ali is not only a patient of TB but a example of failure of awareness campaigns and reach of treatment in far flung areas. He only appeals to us that we help him get his treatment done as he has no financial stability now. We as institutions must check what made a person spend 10 lakhs for his treatment which was to be for free and now left with XDR as it was? We ought to look into our framework for inclusive growth. Rest we will be never be able to achieve our dream of TB FREE INDIA.

Shaukat Ali wants free medicine to be provided to him now otherwise he will lose all hope. Doctors are referring him to either Delhi or Bengaluru and he is financially very weak and wants money for traveling and expenses to reach Delhi or Bengaluru.
