Story

OUR STORY-
SAYODHYA is a charitable non-profit organization based in Hyderabad, established in 2010 by a group of women employees  in Dr. Reddy’s Foundation which seeks to primarily cater to women in need of shelter and support. These women felt impelled to start this home after witnessing in their field work a need for a safe haven for women in distress. This shelter home is a transit refuge center for women and children who are escaping range of abusive situations-physical, sexual and emotional, who have no social support systems to rely on and also to rehabilitate them.
Sayodhya - home is a registered society under societies registration act. Our mission is to address women in distress, specifically to provide the victims of domestic violence with a short stay home (from one day to a week). We strive to accomplish this mission by offering services that include 24-hour availability of emergency shelter; counseling and support for victims’ .We believe that each survivor of domestic violence has the right to a safe, secure home and the capability to self-determine their violence free future. That is why we center our efforts in providing an environment that will help the victims recover from the traumatic effects of victimization and develop an understanding and awareness of the dynamics of domestic violence, relationship difficulties, financial hardship, and difficulties at work by empowering them to gain independent and self sufficient livelihood ahead.
Sayodhya helps to beat distress and find new avenues.
