Sanjiv, a devoted father and hardworking farmer, never imagined his life would take such a tragic turn. Last year, he began experiencing persistent neck pain and swelling, but like many farmers busy with the demands of daily life, he didn’t think much of it at first. It wasn’t until the pain worsened that he and his family finally went to the hospital, hoping for a simple answer. Instead, they were met with devastating news: Sanjiv had blood cancer, and it was already advanced. 


Chemotherapy Started But It Turned Out To Be Ineffective Against His Cancer

Doctors immediately began chemotherapy, but hope quickly turned to despair as the treatment proved ineffective. Sanjiv’s condition worsened, and his family was told that only a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) could save his life. The family, who relied entirely on farming, had no means to cover the staggering cost of 15 lakh  for the procedure. Sanjiv had already exhausted every bit of their savings in a desperate attempt to fund his earlier treatments. His doctors have stressed that the BMT is the only way forward, giving them just a few weeks to raise the necessary funds. Any further delay, they warn, could make the procedure impossible.



They Are Physically And Mentally Exhausted

“I see my wife holding on, but I know she’s scared,” Sanjiv says softly. “She tries to be strong, but the worry is always there. Our children—our son in 9th grade and daughter in 11th—are left alone at home while she’s with me. She can’t stop thinking about how they’re managing on their own. She’s trying to keep everything together, but I know it’s breaking her heart.”


They Have Been Unable To Pay The School Fees For Months

Their children have been struggling to keep up with their lives while their father’s illness looms over them. Despite the chaos, Sanjiv’s daughter scored an impressive 93% in her recent board exams. But even this achievement is tinged with sadness, as the family has been unable to pay their school fees for months. 


His Kids Are Living Far Away And All Alone

"Our children have always been bright," Sanjiv’s wife shares, her voice breaking. "But now they have to take care of themselves. They cook, clean, and go to school all on their own. Some days, they come home too exhausted to cook and go to bed hungry. The school has been understanding, but I don’t know how long we can keep asking for help."


They Have Already Exhausted All Their Sources And Are Helpless

The family’s struggles don’t end there. During a recent storm, one of the rooms in their small home collapsed. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but they’ve had to move in with relatives, adding another layer of stress to an already fragile situation. Sanjiv’s family has applied for government assistance, but the process is slow, and their hope is fading. There is nothing left to sell, no savings to rely on. The weight of this battle is not only threatening to take Sanjiv’s life but is pushing his family to the edge of despair.
