Pankaj Singh (31 years), a slum dweller of Kolkata, met with an accident on 14th May 2016.  He was a helper in a truck engaged in loading and unloading of materials. He was sitting on the left side when the tyre of the truck slipped away. The truck was in a high speed. He was left unconscious after the accident. No injury was reported as such. But after he returned home, he felt unbearable pain in his stomach after two days. He was rushed to the hospital where the doctors said that his poop mechanism is no longer intact and he cant pass stool. All his stool are being accumulated in the stomach and as a result his body is becoming infected. He was operated and a pipe was attached to his stomach for passing stool. But after few days, the pipe started leaking and again his body got infected. He was rushed to the hospital for second operation. The pipe was mended and a hole was made at a different place in the stomach. But again the same thing has happened. Pankaj has undergone 7 major operations to revive his stomach. But still his problem lies the same. He has an operation scheduled on 1st July 2017 to mend his stomach again. The doctors are of opinion that this will be the last operation after which he will be completely cured. The cost of operation is around 1 lakh. There are 7 members in his family out of which only one is earning by doing labour works. His brother lost his job two months ago. Pankaj has become bedridden since 2016 and has become suicidal.
Can you imagine, your everday life being trapped in a room..in a bed with a poop packet attached to your body. He is only 31 years old. He can live his life if you offer little help. Please help Pankaj to undergo his 8th and final operation.
