Once when I was on my way to my working place - school, my eyes caught on the street where some children were roaming here and were in a vulnerable condition. I was shocked. Our nation is growing day by day but still, we are in the midst of nowhere. My heart ached, thinking deeply what to do. I thought at that time if I had made only one child to be an educated person, it would be a huge gift for me forever. The gift is not a material one, it is spiritual. Then the sparkling idea was born.
I, with some of my social worker friends, formed a society in 2009. We started our journey with numerous social development projects. Then we gradually came up with self-help groups for women in rural areas & with a pre-primary school for their children. Then crossing bundle of hurdles we successfully established an Orphanage named MUKTADHARA for the girls who are in a vulnerable condition in our society. They are not safe at roads being rag pickers, beggars, Child labours and what not! We thought of providing shelters for them.
But only giving one shelter is it enough? No, it is not. We need to build more and more shelters for those children who are still left living a terrifying dream out on the street.
They needed to be mainstreamed in our modern society with Education, Nutritious Foods, Proper clothing and the most essential is implementing the right manners, disciplines and cultures in them.
But for taking proper care of them there are not enough funds, in our society with the contribution of committee members & donation of some people we established only one shelter (Orphanage) and running it with a lot of struggle. We need to build more and more shelter for saving street children.
Our dream will be to make a fund for them for their proper Education, Food & Clothing. And when they will grow up, the fund will help them for their higher studies and achieving the desired goals of life. We need your wholehearted support for fulfilling their colourful dreams. We believe we will walk together to building a prosperous nation.
Why the idea?
The idea of helping orphan children is, according to me, a noble cause because helping them means helping God too. I want to do something for them. I want to bring a smile on their faces by providing them with all-round protection and development. I want to get them back from the darkest side of our society to the mainstream of the civilized world. I want to give them a new life from the pangs of the impending shadow of death which has been hovering on their heads always. They are helpless, needing help from us. So why not do something for them! After all, they are humans too and have equal rights.
I think all my students are my children; these orphans are also my children. They must be cared and well-protected. No one knows one day from them we may get Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam or Malala Yousafzai. It is possible; it can be.
