    This fundraiser will benefit

    Monishi Giri

    from Contai, West Bengal

10-year old Monishi is visibly very upset and has stopped speaking to his parents. He doesn't understand why they are keeping him in the hospital where he has to undergo painful needles and chemotherapy.

"I don't blame my son for being angry because what else can you expect from a kid, who has only borne the agony of cancer since 3 years. Daily, our day starts with him pleading to take him back home and let him just play with his brother. But we are helpless, his cancer has not left his body in these 3 years and now that we have a huge chance to save him, we can't afford 20 lakhs for his Transplant."- Sudipa, mother

Little Monishi has been helplessly fighting Blood Cancer since 3 years

Monishi is just 10 years old and is hardly aware of a life outside of his hospital room. He was just 7 when his parents were terrified to see his mouth filled with blood suddenly and his face turning pale. They rushed him to their village hospital immediately, only to find out that their son has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and his treatment needs to start without any delay. At that time his parents, Nirmal and Sudipa, didn't know anything about this disease. All they knew was they had to save their son anyhow so they took their savings and left for a city hospital.

"In just 3 days of his hospital stay, all our life savings were gone but my son was still not cured. We were told to arrange 20 lakhs more for his treatment. Once when I had to shift him to another hospital because I didn't have a single penny left, I lied to him that I'm taking him home. He was so happy in the ambulance and hugged me too. But when we reached another hospital, he felt betrayed. Since then he doesn't trust his Ma and Baba as he thinks we are hurting him purposely. This has completely broken me."- Nirmal, father

He begs his parents to stop the nurses from giving him those painful injections

Nirmal and Sudipa are devastated to see Monishi grow distant from them due to his cancer. Apart from torturing Monishi physically, they feel this disease is feeding on their family emotionally too. They miss those days when he used to call them Ma and Baba with love. But now, he cries silently because he doesn't understand the reason why his parents don't stop the nurses from giving him those painful injections and chemo.

Only thing that makes him happy now is his brother asking him to come back home soon

Monishi needs Aggressive Chemotherapy and a Bone Marrow Transplant to recover completely. Luckily, his younger brother is a match but he is only 3 years old. His parents who are unaware of what exactly the procedure is, are scared for both of them but they know that there is no other option to save Monishi.

"Doctor uncle has said that my cancer will go away with this Transplant. For that, they will have to get my brother here. But I don't want him to come here because what if they also give him painful injections like me? I don't want my brother to be hurt too. I love him and miss him so much. When I go back home, I'll take him to school along with me and play with him. He keeps telling me on phone 'Dada come home soon' and knowing that he misses me too even after staying away for so many years makes me happy."- Monishi

Monishi's parents dream of a day when both their kids will reunite and they will finally be a happy family. But with every passing day, this dream seems to be crashing for them. Working as a daily labourer, Nirmal has completely run out of funds to continue Monishi's treatment. They have been praying for 3 years for Monishi's recovery and now this Transplant could be his only cure. Only you can be an answer to their prayers by helping them with funds.

Please help Monishi fight cancer by contributing to his campaign.
