    This fundraiser will benefit

    Moin ahmed Rizvi

    from Ajmer, Rajasthan

Moin Ahmed Rizvi, lovingly called Moin Sir, is a young man suffering from a rare cancer of the jaw that requires immediate surgery. He has already been through several rounds of chemotherapy and has responded well to therapy with the carcinoma showing signs of regression. This has encouraged the doctors to recommend him for immediate surgery that will require the removal of the entire jaw so as to contain and remove the cancerous mass.

Fortunately, the cancer is still  localised and the condition is treatable and operable. However, time is running out.

Moin works at a charitable school in Ajmer, the city of the famous Sufi Saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti. The school is dedicated to providing free or subsidised education to children of economically weaker section of society. He has very humble earnings and all his savings have been used up in chemotherapy. He has no other source of income.

The doctors have put the cost of surgery alone between Rupees 5 to 6 Lacs.

Moin can look forward to healthy life after surgery, if all goes well. He is needed by his family where he has a young wife, who is not employed, and two young children, aged 13 and 7.

The surgery is to be scheduled at Shalby Hospital, Ahmedabad, and will be conducted by a team led by Dr Kinner Shah, an onco-surgeon. It will take several hours to complete and will be a complex operative procedure also requiring reconstructive micro-surgery to recreate a holding mass after maxillectomy. He will also need blood transfusion and intense post-operative care. If all goes well, then post surgical follow up will also require radiation therapy, however that cost will be in addition to Rs 6 Lacs needed for surgery.

Moin is struggling and needs our help. He has little time left before the cancer becomes incurable. We request all caring and generous samaritans to step forward to help Moin collect the necessary funds for his treatment. For this, Moin and his family will be ever indebted to the madadgars (help providers).
