He started Mission Deep, with a purpose to provide free education and  support to girl child

Sardar Kamalpreet Singh wanted to make a real difference in the lives of girls facing tough times. That's why he started Mission Deep Educational Trust. His organization provides free education for girls from Class VI graduation! But that's not all. Mission Deep also takes care of their basic needs like food, a safe place to live, medicine and everything.

Although with a humble beginning with Mission Deep, Kamalpreet Singh has come along a long way

Starting with a rented one room that can hold just 17 students, and 8 staffs who were mostly his friends and family members, today, through his Organization Kamalpreet Singh is providing education and shelter to 418 girl children, along with taking care of their overall growth and health.

“Me and my colleagues at Mission Deep, go to the poor families in villages, and politely make them understand the importance of education for girl child. For this, we take the entire responsibility of their education till their graduation, and make arrangements for their stay in our hostels, and even provide safe pick and drop to their homes” – Kamalpreet Singh.

But this achievement did not come without many hurdles

Looking back although it had been a journey of many accomplishments, but none of them came without any difficulties. Being from a state where the sex ratio is way less than the national average, along with the prevailing trend of child marriage, he even had to take the help of police to stop the marriages of minor girls. But the major challenge came during Covid, when he had to shut down the facility for a while.

“Even though things got difficult, I never gave up on my goal. But during Covid, I got really worried. I knew the girls wouldn't have enough food or be able to stay clean at home. The worse thing is, 50 young girls from our own organization even got married off during that time and i was not able to help them.  – Kamalpreet Singh

He withstood and fought back harder

Although the days were tough, but Sardar Kamalpreet Singh stayed determined despite all the struggles and has come out strong. Now he is working towards opening another branch of Mission Deep Educational Trust, in a 6000 sq ft plot, with more facilities like state-of-the-art library, open playground, where the girls can pursue outdoor sports freely, in-campus residential buildings, classes for Humanities along with Commerce etc..
