"My son was always very scared of the hospital, crying to go back home. Now, he is pleading with us to take him to the hospital. Can you imagine how unbearable his pain is?"
When baby Krithick was born, he filled Suresh and Rajeshwari’s lives with hope. Their little family was now complete, and the young couple started planning their life ahead with great excitement, despite their limited means. But now this 3-year-old's life is in danger
Baby Krithick has had 6 surgeries over the past 6 months
“This January, we were planning his admission to a school, when the little one woke up with rashes that looked like insect bites, except the lumps under them hurt way more. We took him to a nearby hospital, where we were told that the lumps must surgically be removed.”
This was just the beginning of a series of surgeries. Within a month, when the problem recurred, the helpless parents rushed their baby to another hospital. Here too, they were asked to undergo a surgery at the earliest. The problem continued and the painful rashes would come back 1 or 2 at a time, in different parts of the body.
They cannot afford the medical tests to diagnose the real problem
“I am an electrician. I hardly manage to make Rs. 7000 during months when I can find work. With the regular trips to the hospital over the past few days, I hardly have money to feed my family. My baby is in so much pain. He cannot even urinate due to the condition. My house, that he once filled with joy, now resounds his screams. Which father will be able to stand this?” Suresh says.
The baby needs to be evaluated for primary immunodeficiency, a rare group of chronic disorders affecting his body’s immunity system. He has been writhing with pain in various parts of the body, the rashes coming up over and over, and surgeries conducted to stop it from spreading.
How you can help.
“I have borrowed money on interest from a money lender. Just the interest on the amount could swallow my whole income. He is my only son. I would do all I can to save him. Do I have to watch my own little one suffer this way just because I don’t have money to get him treated? I just want to know what has happened to him,” Suresh is helpless and feels like he is not being able to fulfil his duty as a father.
The family is desperately waiting to know what their son is really suffering from, but do not have the funds to afford the genetic work-up required for the evaluation.
Your support could put an end to the little one’s suffering.
