I, Geeta Chouhan am an Indian Wheelchair Basketball Player from Mumbai. I am part of Indian Wheelchair Basketball Team since March 2018.I was a member of the team that represented India in the Asian Para Games Qualifiers, held at Bangkok, Thailand in March 2018. I also play Wheelchair Tennis.
I was born in a middle-class family of Mumbai. At the age of 6, I was affected by polio which affected my ability to walk. Due to my condition, I struggled to get an education. I was denied admission to private schools, so I ultimately completed education till SSC in a government school.I Completed graduation from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. I got the opportunity to play sports just a few years ago, but ever since I have started playing sports I have practiced very hard for both the sports I play. I am passionate about sports and am committed to work hard and achieve laurels for my country.

01) Represented India at the Asian Para Games Qualifying trials at Bangkok, Thailand. March 2018
Tournaments with Maharashtra Wheelchair Basketball Team :-
01) Winner - 5th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2018 at Tamil Nadu.
02) 4th Position - 4th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2017 at Hyderabad
I was the top scorer (12 points) in the final match against Tamil Nadu at the 5th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2018.
I also plays Wheelchair Tennis for Maharashtra.
Tournaments of Wheelchair Tennis:-
1) I have won runners up title in doubles at open National Wheelchair tennis Championship 2018 held at Chennai.
2) Participated at National Wheelchair Tennis Championship Dec. 2018 held at Bangalore.
I play for the Indian women's wheelchair basketball team and for the Maharashtra state team however, there is no financial support available to wheelchair sports persons in India, No Association or government bodies are supporting players like us who are from an economically weaker background. I have to seek donors for travelling expenses, kit, sports wheelchair and training to play sports on wheelchair. These expenses are considerable and I am unable to make the same out of my own earnings.
I would like to practice more and bring laurels for my Country and state. I request you to support me for my tournament and travel. Your support will motivate me to practice harder and achieve greater heights.
The sports wheelchair that I am using at present was sponsored as well. This is a basic wheelchair that is a good fit however; no adjustments are possible to make the wheelchair perform better. I also use basic Velcro straps to fasten myself on the wheelchair. In the Wheelchair Basketball Nationals, 2018 I was top scorer in the finals for my team, I was also appreciated a lot for my speed.
I am looking to better my performance this year for which I am already practising hard but besides practice, I will need a good sports wheelchair which is of international standard. A good imported sports wheelchair costs anywhere between 3,00,000 to 4,00,000 INR. This expense is considerable. Please help me to buy a good sports wheelchair by sponsoring me. & Other 50 000 travelling expenses for the tournament
