“My husband’s accident has shattered our lives. He was hit by a truck and rushed to the hospital, fighting for his life. I still can’t believe the man who once saved others as a nurse is now lying helpless on a hospital bed.”  Aruna, wife

A road accident left him unrecognisable and critically injured

On July 27, my husband, Rajsekhar, met with a devastating road accident while returning home on his bike. A lorry rammed into him, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. He was first admitted to a local hospital, but delays in treatment made things worse. By the time he was shifted to Hyderabad, doctors found a hole in his intestine, multiple fractures, a blood clot in his head, and deadly infections spreading through his body.

“When I saw him for the first time after the accident, I couldn’t even recognise him. Tubes everywhere, his face swollen, machines keeping him alive. The man who once worked tirelessly to save lives is now struggling to save his own.  — Aruna

‘He suffers silently but cannot even express it ’

Rajsekhar is conscious now, but his suffering is unbearable. He cannot speak properly or convey his pain. Rajsekhar is conscious now, but his suffering is unimaginable. His stomach injury makes eating difficult, and the infections continue to threaten his life every day.

“He tells me he just wants to go home. That’s all he wants. But he cannot even sit or stand by himself. It breaks me to see the father of my children, a man who once gave his all to his patients, now so helpless.” — Aruna

A father, A husband, A medical caregiver — Now helpless without funds

Rajsekhar is a father to our two little children, aged seven and eight. They keep asking me when their papa will return home, but I have no answers. I am a schoolteacher on contract, and now, with both of us unable to work, there is no income left.

So far, we have spent ₹13 lakhs on his treatment, borrowing from friends and relatives. Hospital bills alone crossed ₹6 lakhs in a single day. Every rupee we saved, every loan we could take — it’s all gone.

The doctors say his treatment must continue at any cost, but we are failing to do that. I feel so helpless, unable to save my husband. Please, I beg you, help me save him. Help me bring him back to our children. — Aruna
