Small tears blur the screen of Sourav Sharma’s phone as he scrolls through old cricket videos he once saved, hoping to show them to his son someday and inspire him to become a cricketer. Now, his little boy lies beside him on a hospital bed, asleep under heavy medication to ease the pain.
Life has never been easy for Sourav. With a wife suffering from Down syndrome and his own battle with Stage I oral cancer, he has always kept fighting. But nothing prepared him for the day his one-year-old son came close to death. Doctors discovered a blood clot in the child’s brain, and urgent brain surgery became the only way to save his life.

The Fateful Day That Changed Everything
It was only few hours back that Sourav left for work. Everything was fine then. His son who had just learnt taking steps was peacefully playing with his toys. He kissed his son and left for work with a hope to play with him again in the evening. He just reached the site where he was working as a daily labourer, when the phone rang. Although he could not hear his mother’s every words. The only thing he could make out of it was, “Beta jaldi aaja, munna sidiyon se gir gaya hain. (Son, come home fast. Munna has fallen from stairs.)”
Life was never completely fair to Sourav Sharma, but he never learned to give up. No matter what challenges he faced, everything seemed to fade away with the giggle and laughter of his son. But now, this helpless father could think of nothing except saving his precious baby. He went door to door asking friends, relatives, and even neighbours for help and somehow managed to arrange the bare minimum needed for his son’s surgery.
The surgery happened. And after days of spending nights in ICU and ventilation, his son did open his eyes. But unfortunately, this was just part of it….
What Next….As his son’s skull is not healing by itself, this toddler who is barely one and half year old now, needs to go through another major brain surgery for the doctors to call it 'out of danger', otherwise the little one might again go into coma…
But now the major hurdle in front of the father is how to arrange another hefty amount as he has already borrowed from whoever he could and even from whoever he could not...
The time is ticking, Dr. Naresh and Dr. Binit is clear, “Whatever has to be done, has to be done now.”
And for the father, whose bare minimum earning is not enough even to afford the daily bed charges, is challenged by a situation that no way he can solve.
