    This fundraiser will benefit

    child of Salma Parween

    from Patna, Bihar

Before she fell ill, Salma’s daughter was an active little girl who loved school and playing badminton. She learned things quickly and was one of her teacher’s favourite students. But since she was four, hospital stays and repeated blood transfusions have become a regular part of her childhood.

“My daughter is my whole world. Even when she is in pain, she looks at me and says, ‘Mumma, don’t worry. I will get better.’ She is the one who gives me strength.” - Salma Parween

A High Fever Was The Beginning Of Her Struggle

It started with a high fever. Soon, Salma noticed bleeding and unusual patches on her daughter’s body. Tests showed that she had aplastic anemia, a serious blood disorder.

Since then, she has needed blood and platelet transfusions again and again. Sometimes, she has had to stay in the hospital for months and miss school and her friends.

Blood Transfusions Are No Longer Enough

Today, at 9, her condition has become more serious. She gets tired and breathless even while walking and often suffers from headaches, dizziness, swelling, back and leg pain. She also has to stay away from others because an infection could make her condition worse.

Doctors have now said that repeated transfusions cannot continue for long. She urgently needs a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).

Years Of Treatment Have Become Too Much For Salma To Manage

Salma is a single mother of two and earns only ₹6,000 a month from her part-time job. After years of paying for her daughter’s treatment, she now faces her biggest challenge.

Her daughter now urgently needs a Bone Marrow Transplant, but Salma cannot afford the treatment on her small income. She only wants to see her daughter healthy, back in school and playing badminton again. Your contribution can help give this 9-year-old that chance.
