My name is Gulnaz. I’m a mother to a little boy who means the world to me. When he was born in 2024, our family was so happy. I couldn't wait to see him crawl, walk, laugh, and say his first word.
But now, instead of learning to walk, my one-year-old baby is battling eye cancer. I'm terrified he won't survive.

On His First Birthday, He Wasn’t Playing With Balloons—He Was in Surgery
In March 2025, my baby’s right eye suddenly swelled up. We rushed to a local clinic, then to other hospitals, but no one could tell us what was wrong. By the time we reached Dr. Shroff’s Hospital, he had already fainted from the pain. For a moment, I truly thought we had lost him.
Doctors rushed him into the emergency ward for an urgent biopsy. When they returned, they told us it was neuroblastoma. My child had a fast-spreading eye cancer.

What shattered me the most was that my child was spending his birthday in the hospital.

My 60-Year-Old Father-In-Law Started Driving a Rickshaw to Help
My husband used to work on high rooftops, fitting aluminium sheets. It was dangerous, but he did it to secure our child’s future. After our baby fell sick, he had to stop working to take him to the hospital. To help us, my 60-year-old father-in-law started driving a rickshaw. But that manages only our meals. My son's medicines alone cost ₹40,000 every week.
Last year, all our savings went into my husband’s sisters’ weddings, and we've never had any gold to sell. The few loans we managed to take were spent in the first few weeks of treatment. Now, we’re left with nothing.

Our Child Tries To Comfort Us When We Cry
He can’t talk yet, but he knows what’s going on. One day, my husband sat next to him, crying. Our baby, even in pain, slowly turned his head and touched his father’s face with his little hand and smiled. He was trying to make us feel better. It was a maturity he shouldn't be forced to understand.
At night, he cries because of the pain. I sing to him, but even lullabies don’t help anymore.

They Need To Start Treatment Now To Save His Eye
Before surgery, he needs radiation and blood transfusions to shrink the tumour. Doctors say it will cost ₹10 lakhs. Every month, we also need ₹2 lakhs for his medicines.
They told us clearly—if we wait too long, the cancer might spread, and they may have to remove his eye.

Please Help Him Grow Up To See A Bright Future
I am just a mother who wants to protect her child. But today, we are helpless. We have no money left, and we are running out of time. But my baby still smiles. He still fights.
Please, if you’re reading this, help us save him. He deserves to grow up, play, laugh, and see the world with both his eyes.
