42-year-old Sajid,his wife Nafees Jahan were a happy couple with two children Amreen (12) and Afshaan (8). Nafees is now 5 months pregnant and the family was eagerly waiting for the arrival of the new member. Their happiness turned into anxiety and fears when they received the worst news ever. Sajid met with a horrific accident and is in a critical condition now.
On that unfortunate day December 20th, Sajid was on his way back to home from his office in his two wheeler. A car that came in opposite direction in an uncontrollable speed hit him and the wheels ran over his body.His legs were almost crushed and he was left with now feeling in his legs and was unable to move the waist. A crowd gathered immediately but no one was prepared to lift him seeing the awful condition. It happened only a few kilometres from his office, a friend of him carried him all alone when the ambulance arrived.
Nafees felt that something is wrong when he did not turn up at the ususal time, but she was least prepared to hear this terrible news. She was all alone with her two children at home when she heard the news. For a moment, she was frozen with shock. She then managed to rush to hospital. The short distance between her house and the hospital turned out to be the most painful and longest journey for her. She was completely devastated seeing her husband lying unconsioucs in the ICU with multiple injuries.
“This accident has just turned our life upside down, for no mistake of his , he is struggling for his life now. I cant imagine my children growing without their father. He is going through a lot of pain and trauma, he is coping with it with a hope that he will be back to the home. My children look at him through the glass in the ICU. They are waiting for him to come back” says Nafees
Sajid has multiple fractures. He has undergone surgeries in his right hand legs. He needs 9 surgeries out of which 4 are done and 5 need to be done. Each surgery will be done after a consdierable gap, until injuries to heal. It may take atleast two years for him to recover completely.
Nafees ‘s parents are no more and Sajid’s mother is dependant on him. He is the sole bread winner of the family and the pillar of his family. Sajid’s sister is taking care of him now in hospital and Nafees is taking care of the children. Despite the unbearable physical pain, his emotional trauma and fears about his family is more painful for him. He could hardly sleep or be at peace even for a moment. Please pray for him for his strength and speedy recovery.
“My wife is carrying now and I should have been with her and taking care but instead she is rushing back and forth to hospital. I can see the pain and fear in her eyes. She is struugling to be normal in the presence of me and my children. I cant leave my children. I dont know how we are going to manage this situation” says Sajid
Sajid’s uncle is now taking care of the medical expense, with much difficulty they are managaing to do it. Nafees is shattered and the very thought of the future. her children scares her. Her life has become full of uncertianity such as the expenses for the tretament of her husband, children’s education, future, day to day strrugles of life and everything.
