Aruna Kumari, is just like every other ordinary girl you’d meet, much like you or me; but behind those dreamy eyes and hands worn out with household work she undertakes to make ends meet, lies a tale much extraordinary. Her father is sick and mother occasionally works as house maid.
Working as a household help to feed 4 mouths in her family, she is also a trained beautician who supplements her income by working in one of the many beauty parlours in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. But this, you may say, is very ordinary. True.
What sets apart this lithe, gritty, determined young lady is the fact that apart from working two demanding jobs that make up for a meager income, she is a boxing champion having fought and winning several medals that proudly adorn the walls of her very humble makeshift temporary abode.
But her story is far from over. Aruna says it is just the start. She aims to represent India in the [2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo] and has a long way to go. Aruna is working real hard. She trains day in and day out, with second hard equipment that her salary can barely afford. Aruna wishes to make India proud by adding only ‘golds’ to the medal tally. She has grit, determination, skill, zeal and technique; what she does not have is money. She needs you to help her make India proud.
Would you help her achieve her dream? Would you support her unflinching spirit and national pride? There is immense talent in the country that is fettered due to lack of funds. Many athletes with immense potential have lost out because they could not afford the training, the equipment or even a coach and d needs proper diet. Aruna stands on an edge today, from where she can only go forward with your support; till now, it is only determination that has stood by her. Today, she needs India to stand up for her. It is high time we all wake-up and support the sporting talent in our country and bring about a change.
Help Aruna fulfill her dream.
