I'm a 25 year old woman doing rescues on a personal basis with no outside or family help.
I've been running a place since 5 years now and i cannot shut down as i have 5 dogs. 3 of whom were abandoned by its owner, 1 was picked up from a shelter in a very bad state and 1 was a PTS case as she was extremely aggressive.
Other than that we have 3 motherless puppies right now. I keep rescuing on and off according to what i have or earn from my fosters and medical boarding.
I have 9 babies i feed and take care outside my house and i foster cats from the vov shelter too. So their vet bills and stay plus adoption is taken care by me. I have done about 24 adoptions and i have my own cat too plus 3 cats i have in my verandah who are fed regulary.
I would have closed my place since it is very difficult to take out the rent plus salaries plus all their medications plus sterilisation and food but no shelter acceps healthy dogs in and its like killing them only if i send them to one. I have tried settling them on the road and ferding them there but they always come back and that too injured which is an add on cost for me.
I want to continue helping these babies on a personal level and has rarely asked for donations but this time its either this side or that. With boardings and fosters i manage to earn upto 25-30k a month out of which i spend around 60k on my 5 babies plus rescues and fosters.

My biggest problem has always been taking out the rent.
