This is with regards to my colleague's son, aged 1 year 11 months who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. As a result, there are developmental delays and he has difficulties in the motor, visual and hearing domains. The motor difficulties include delayed sitting, standing, walking, etc. and involuntary abnormal twisting movements called a dystonia. To help him with activities of daily living continued rehabilitation in the form of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy along with appropriate and timely medicines and consultation with doctors will be required for the minimum first 8-10 years of his life.

He has a profound hearing loss in both ears. In spite of using hearing aid, he is not getting enough benefit from it. He requires Cochlear Implant surgery which will improve his speech perception, educational and social opportunities and quality of life. Lot of money is going in his therapy sessions and medications. As a result, it’s extremely difficult for my colleague to afford this cochlear implant surgery for him. As a friend and colleague, my sincere request you to support us with maximum funding and help our child.
