Details of the incident
Ajith (23 years old) met with an unfortunate road accident on June 25, 2018. His 2-wheeler collided with another 2-wheeler in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. He was thrown off his vehicle and sustained severe brain injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Since the hospital was not equipped to handle such complicated medical conditions, Ajith had to be shifted to healthcare facilities in Bangalore. After attempts at multiple hospitals, eventually, Ajith was admitted at the Narayana multi-specialty hospital at HSR Layout.
Current state
For the past 2 weeks Ajith has been in ICU, on ventilator support. A major blood clot was removed from his brain surgically, but he continues to be in coma. However, doctors have assured that there is hope of survival if proper medical care is provided. With each passing day, the doctors are trying their best to help him recover, but it’s becoming more and more difficult for his family to bear the steep medical expenses. They have run out of all resources and are in urgent need of help. They have been asked by the hospital authorities to shift Ajith to a different (and more affordable) medical facility. Unfortunately, it’s not possible right now to do so, since his condition is critical.
Ajith’s background
Ajith comes from a very humble background. He was born and brought up in a simple south Indian family from rural parts of Dharmapuri. For the past couple of years he had been working for a small company in Dharmapuri with a monthly income of less than Rs. 10,000. His elder brother Ramesh is a full-time volunteer at Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore.
